In the first chapter, I introduce my understanding of technology-based design, the following chapters elaborate on the process itself.  After explaining each phase’s basic idea, I will guide you through several design methods I used when testing the process. I will show you an application example for each of these methods and provide you with templates for your own use. At the end of each stage, we are going to recap our results and reflect on the process.

1️⃣ The first phase of the process focuses on researching and understanding the respective technology.

2️⃣ In the second phase, we map the technology and try to understand its development status and timeline compared to other technologies.

3️⃣ In the third phase, we use all the facts and interpret them to grasp their impact.

4️⃣ In the fourth phase, we are looking into the future, researching trends, and creating scenarios. All this leads to ideas for possible solutions.

5️⃣ In the fifth phase, we search for and analyze user groups for our ideas.

6️⃣ The last phase combines the solution and the user group we found into a prototype.

After we have finished the prototyping phase, we are going to discuss the next steps you can take. The process described is open to new methods, so if you understand the basic idea of each stage, feel free to test and share your techniques. At last, we will reflect on whether the process works, which technologies work well and where it differs from a user-based process.
