Previous 5.1 Lead user analysis
Next 5.3 Recap
The last tool we will use in this phase is AEIOU since it provides a lot of guidance and allows all stakeholders to work with it. We already identified our lead users. Now we want to learn more about their problem, environment, and themselves.(40)
The AEIOU framework divides your research into five segments: Activities, Environment, Interaction, Objects, and Users. We will use the questions asked by the AEIOU framework to analyze the workaround we spotted during *Method 5.1 lead user analysis.* Afterwards, we will explore in which areas our answers would differ from our proposed solution. This helps us further define our concept and the user group.(41)
Step 1: Go through the questions based on the workaround you found. Use pictures and sketches to visualize the answers. If you can observe your lead users, do so. Feel free to add additional questions when needed.
Step 2: Analyze your answers and add additional information on where your solution would differ from the workaround. Where do you see further potential?
Observing all users individually is very time-consuming. Since the time limit of the thesis does not allow this, many of the answers are own assumptions and research.
